An intelligent, upgradable and adaptable
system

Gestiofast is a remote management system for lighting which uses data transmission via power line communication.

This process makes it possible to use the existing power network and requires no additional installation.
The system is based around an open communication protocol (LonTalk®) which enables multiple supplier installations, so it can be upgraded easily.

Operating principle

It works by installing a "lighting controller (1)" in each lamp which controls the various lighting modes (switching on, brightness) and also passes on the information related to the lamp's operating status via a "segment controller (2)". Each segment controller sends this information to the "remote management station (3)" via the internet network or via a wifi link.

The lamps are controlled individually and remotely by the remote management station which can be connected to a centralised server.

Moreover, the control modules are fitted with an RJ9 socket that is used to connect sensors which can be fitted onto the lighting columns and transform them, if necessary, into air quality stations or into weather stations for example.

GESTIOFAST works just as well on old installations as it does on new ones.

1. Lighting controller

The intelligent lighting controller is installed in each lamp and communicates with the remote management station via the segment controller using its carrier current technology.
It is also used to control the switching on and brightness of the various lights which make up the lamp. It detects faults and activates the alarms on the remote management station.

The lighting controller's communication via carrier current uses the existing electrical network (without extra cabling) and is compatible with LonWorks® - Media CPL protocol. This protocol is an open system whereby a multi-supplier facility may be used; therefore it can be upgraded easily.

2. Segment controller

The segment controller is installed in the public lighting network's electricity supply cabinet.

It retrieves and centralises the information coming from each light via carrier currents and sends it to the remote management station to be processed and analysed

3. Remote management station

With the "streelight.vision" the remote management station retrieves, manages and controls all information coming from each light via a GPRS, Wifi, ADSL or radio connection.
